'The Ghosts That Are Always Hungry' is a paperback that investigates what most of us often leave unanswered, the issue of ghosts. It presents the dialogue between Buddhists, Taoists and Christians on the much ignored but never forgotten experiences and views on encounters with the unknown. It also includes insights on the hungry ghost festival, a living folk art, and tries to generate an understanding of this rich custom. 'Ghosts', very often, is a topic that is much feared of. The book, however, discusses the topic in a lighter and more approachable manner with its interesting contents that blend darkness and hilarity, accompanied with intriguing comic illustrations.

The format and dimensions of the book also takes after that of a comic book most youths and teenagers are fond of reading. This would help to attract them to pick up and read its contents.

Each book is packaged in a plastic container used by local supermarkets and hawkers for takeaways. A packet of biscuits and some joss papers that are commonly used as offerings to the deceased are also included in the package.

'The Ghosts That Are Always Hungry' aims to reach out especially to youths and teenagers. The book aims to clear their doubts about 'ghosts'. Featuring the hungry ghost festival that is celebrated annually on the 7th month of the lunar calendar, the book also intends to evoke interest and appreciation of the local culture, customs and beliefs among its readers.

This entry is the designers' attempt to contribute to society. By presenting an age-old topic in an exciting format, the designers hope to re-connect the younger generation with their culture and traditions.
